1920 körül járunk, egy világháború után megtépett országban, ahol a válság miatt sok a szegény, nehéz megélni, szinte lehetetlen a nyomorból kitörni. Másfelől nagyüzemben megy az élvhajhászás és az élni akarás, a boldogság utáni vágy tobzódik az operettekben, a zenés játékokban, a kabarékban.
Ezt a vadregényes Pestet idézi meg a Csókos asszony története, melyben olyan ismert dalok csendülnek fel, mint: Éjjel az omnibusz tetején; Asszony, asszony, csókos asszony. Az örökzöld slágerek mellett rengeteg tánc, nevetés és egy remek történet várja a publikumot a Vörösmarty Színházban!
