Fazekas Mihály meséje mit sem változott, csak a megközelítés módja új. Schwajda György a libák szemszögéből írta át a cselekményt. Itt mindenkit és mindent a libák alakítanak. Így vállnak a libák emberré, díszletté. Galiba a cselekmény mozgatója csupa humorral, fordulattal tűzdeli meg a zenés színdarabot. A vidám színjáték a kicsiknek és a szülőknek is nagy mulatságára szolgál.
