Boldogan él a Ladányi-família valahol a nagy magyar Alföldön. A családfő nemigen zavartatja magát, legfeljebb az okoz neki problémát, hogy mi legyen ebédre, és hogy merre lehet a pipája. Felesége híresen nagy háztartást visz, mert állandóan váltják egymást a vendégek a birtokon, sőt, unokájuk, Katica kiházasításának a terhe is az ő vállát nyomja. A napok általában ebédtől vacsoráig, vacsorától ebédig tartanak, egészében addig, amíg váratlan sürgöny érkezik.
Hamar vége szakad az idillnek, sőt kiderül, hogy a birtok ügyei sem éppen úgy alakulnak, ahogy azt a család tudta. Ettől kezdve a Ladányi-família élete merő tébollyá válik… A ritkán játszott s a Karinthy Színház által újra felfedezett, egyszerre szórakoztató és elgondolkodtató színdarab kiváló szereposztásban látható február 14-étől.

Pairing the two German composers, Wagner and the Wagnerian Strauss in a single evening creates a sweeping and overwhelming fusion of expansive melodies and driving dramatic force. The tale of Leander the goblin and Princess Linseed, brimming with magic and a seemingly unbreakable curse, not to mention a wealth of twists and turns, is a genuinely good yarn. Set to a libretto by Barnabás Szöllősi that is based on Andor Szilágyi's fable for the theatre and written at the OPERA's request in the 2014/15 season, Erkel Prize-winning composer Zsófia Tallér's masterful, expressive and entertaining music makes this Hungarian fairy tale opera an enjoyable experience for children and adults alike, and, we hope, a possible future classic.
