Fiatal idegenek érkeznek egy kis zalai faluba. Nem dolgozni, hanem pihenni. Aztán mégis munkába állnak. A szélhámosok ugyanis egy helyi idős párban meglátják a tökéletes áldozatokat. Egy kis hiúság, egy kis mohóság, egy kis unalom, egy régi adósság a sors részéről. A becsvölgyi konyhaasztal egy szempillantás alatt nagy játszmák sakktáblája lesz: elrabolt és megveretett vállalkozó, Ukrajnába eladott terepjáró, megvásárolt ügyész, telefonban zokogó titkárnő, egy kis drogcsempészet… és máris izgalmasabb színeket vesz föl az élet! A két pár között mély barátság kezd kialakulni, és mindezt érdeklődve figyeli a néma falu és a csodálatos nyugat-dunántúli táj. Egy pusztuló, mégis életteli világról szóló történet humorral és szeretettel – nem a vidéken, a vidékkel nevetünk.
