Az előadás rendezője a kortárs orosz színházi élet egyik emblematikus figurája, a „Kiszlorod" (Oxigén) elnevezésű színházi mozgalom elindítója, a rendezőként és színházi pedagógusként is ismert Viktor Rizsakov. Korábban Osztrovszkij: Vihar.Opus.Posth című előadása volt látható a Víg Kamaraszínházban, majd Verdi Aidáját állította színre a Csokonai Színházban.
A szakmai zsüri döntése alapján a Fodrásznő nyerte 2010-ben a X. POSZT legjobb előadásának díját, a címszereplő Szűcs Nelli pedig a legjobb női alakítás díját kapta a Maszk Színészegyesülettől.
