A Pulitzer- és Tony-díjas dráma több, mint ötszázszor ment a Broadway-n, filmváltozatában, melyet maga a szerző rendezett, Meryl Streep és Philip Seymour Hoffman játszotta a főszerepeket.
1964-et írunk. A bronxi St. Nicholas Egyházi Iskola igazgatónője, Aloysius nővér kemény kézzel és alapvető gyanakvással kezeli a gondjaira bízott gyerekeket. Az iskola azonban új tanítót kap Flynn atya személyében, aki modern gondolkodást és személyes odafigyelést hoz a szigorú intézménybe. Hamarosan összetűzésre kerül sor kettejük között, és amikor egy fiatal nővér elárulja, hogy a férfi különös figyelemmel viseltet az egyik diák iránt, az események váratlan fordulatot vesznek.
A színdarab Magyarországon a Theatrum Mundi Színházi és Irodalmi Ügynökség között létrejött megállapodás alapján kerül színre.
Az előadás a Mediszin Kft. és az Orlai Produkciós Iroda együttműködésében jött létre.
