Willie Clark és Alfred Lewis alkották hajdanán sok-sok évig a híres komikus párost, a Napsugár fiúk néven széles körben ismert duót. Tizenegy éve nem beszéltek egymással, mert Al egy napon úgy döntött, hogy visszavonul a pályáról és ezzel társa, Willie karrierjének is bealkonyult. Willie unokaöccse és ügynöke, Ben, aki folyamatosan megpróbálja nagybátyját színészi feladatokhoz juttatni, egy nap óriási bejelentést tesz: a CBS csatorna egy tévé-showban szeretné ismét összehozni a párost, ahol elő kell adniuk egyik legendás jelenetüket.
