A darab egyszerre sziporkázó szellemi párbaj, elmélyült történelmi oknyomozás, káprázatosan nagy ívű tabló, harsány népi szórakozás, tehát igazi totális színház. A vélemények kavargásában, a magatartásformák sokféleségében, csak egy dolog mondható ki biztosan - áldozatok nélkül nincsen mód a radikális változásra. A forradalom témája jó alkalom számot vetni a kisebbségi léttel is, a szlovákiai magyar problémákkal, kérdezni és keresni a megoldásokat.

Bartók Béla’s two highly influential stage works explore the dynamics of the relationship between man and woman and the deeper layers of their personalities, as presented by creators who, through a fusion of tradition and innovation, reveal the possibilities inherent in these works for 21st-century audiences.
For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
